The mothers are informed what the physical disability of their children implies and they are taught how to look after them and stimulate them. The mothers are introduced with TAMH, the Tanzanian parents’ Association for Mentally Impaired Children.

The Centre has a strict daily schedule. In the morning, the children are woken up, washed and dressed.

Some children can do this themselves and others need their mother to help them. Then they have breakfast. After breakfast, the children have some time to play before school starts. Lunch is eaten together. The afternoon programme has, besides school activities, a great deal of sports and playtime.
