The Sibusiso Centre also houses a school.
There are two classrooms for the adolescents of the six month project and one big classroom for the mothers with little children who stay 3 months at Sibusiso.
The school in the Centre is not a normal primary school, but a special school. This form of education reveals latent abilities and develops them. Lessons covered include: self care, social skills, basic arrhythmic and language lessons, music and dance, drawing, painting, sports and games, domestic chores and sewing, carpentry, gardening.
In the regular education in Tanzania mentally disabled children are (not) yet provided with a specialist education due to a shortage of funds and facilities to train teachers for this kind of special education. The work we do is therefore vital to the development of these children.
